Installing Maps via Unlock Key (Mac)

Before you begin

You will need your unit, USB cable and NavDesk program installed.

We advise that you back up any saved data/POI/My places on the Navman to your PC to ensure that you do not lose any of the saved information.

Please note that downloadable maps vary in size. An approximate size is listed below:
Australian Map Data – 350mb
Eastern European Map Data – 700mb
New Zealand Map Data – 150mb
North American Map Data – 2.1gb
Western European Map Data – 2.2gb

We recommend that you store international mapping data on a separate SD Card in order to retain optimal performance from your unit. You can purchase a micro SD card from any consumer electrical retailer.

Please note: Some settings on your device may change during the installation process. We recommend that you check all settings through the "Preference" menu once you have completed the map installation process prior to driving with your unit.

You will receive your map unlock key via email if purchased from our online store or if you have signed up to any available promotions for your device.

Please ensure that you download the correct map for your unit as your key will only work for that specific unit and region. It can only be activated once on one device.

How to install the Maps

1) Download & Install the Navdesk Mac software here.

**This should install NavDesk Version 7.50 on your Mac. (If your Navdesk is already
this version, there”s no need to do this step. Please proceed to the next step)

2) Download the correct Map Data file from the following link for your model and save it onto your Desktop under “My Maps” Folder. To create the folder, click on the desktop, Go to “File” at the top select “New Folder” and enter the name of the folder.

**Please make sure that the folder contains this map data file only. This is a directory on your computer and not in the Navman GPS.

3) Once done with the download, connect the device to the computer, switch it on and
Wait for it to display the computer connection screen. If prompted, please select “Computer”




4) To Open NavDesk. Click on the Desktop, then “GO” button at the top toolbar then select “Applications” . Look for Navdesk and double click on it.
**It is recommended that you create a shortcut button on your Desktop for easy access. Simply click and hold the Navdesk icon and drag it onto your Desktop. A shortcut has now been created.




5) Go to “My Navman” then “Unlock Features”. Enter the product key that was given to you via e-mail; enter it all in upper case.
**Please be reminded that we do not use the number “1” on the code. If you see one, change it to a letter “I” for Indigo.
Then Click on “Continue”. Follow the prompts to complete the process then click on “Finish”




6) Click on “My Maps”




7) On the right hand side under “Loadable Maps”, Click on the “Open” button




8) Click on “Desktop” on the left hand side and select “My Maps” folder and then the Map ISO you downloaded at step 2 to unlock then click “OPEN”




9) Tick the country of maps you want to install and select “Install Maps” at the bottom.
**The maps will now proceed to install and will prompt when completed.

10) To recover any subscriptions on the device, Click on “My Subscriptions” and then “Recover Subscriptions” at the bottom then click “YES”. Navdesk will prompt when this is completed.





11) Right click on the Navman drive icon on your Desktop and select "Eject ".
You can now disconnect your Navman and close down Navdesk. Map installation is now complete.



If you have installed International Maps, follow the steps below to access them on your device:

1. Turn on your unit
2. Go to the Main Menu
3. Select Settings
4. Select My Maps
5. Select Map Set
6. Select the country you wish to load on your unit eg: North America
7. Confirm that you wish to load these maps by selecting Yes
8. The device will restart and load the International Maps.
Please note that when you first turn on the unit overseas, it can take up to 6 minutes for the unit to locate your position. This is because the GPS chip has a memory that allows it to approximate the location of the satellites to pick up the signal faster. When you travel a large distance whilst the unit is off, it needs to be begin the search for satellites from scratch and this is why it may take longer the first time you use the unit overseas. You will also experience this delay upon returning to your local country.
